Today’s world is moving at such a fast rate that even fun is evolving. 10 years ago, it was all about nightclubs, discotheques, and bars. These days it’s not enough to set up a bar, you need to have theme nights like comedy nights, live bands, quiz nights, bottle nights hosted by celebrities, etc. This has opened up new income-generating revenues for people but to the partygoer the routine soon becomes monotonous. The crowd is almost the same and the night plays out the same way. So, how do you keep your nightlife interesting?

I have discovered that registering for dance lessons is a great way to spend time. Here you meet new people and learn different skills and for couples it is a great way to bond with your partner, build intimacy and reignite your spark. For the purposes of this article, I have centered on the kizomba dance.

Kizomba dancing is in vogue as it”s sensual hip movements are ideal for dancing in pairs. It is a slow, melodious rhythm with an attractive cadence reminiscent of African music. Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music originating from Angola. It is a derivative of samba, with a mix of Kilapanda and Angolan Merengue, and is sung generally in Portuguese. It is music with a romantic flow. La Kizomba is one of the great dances of fashion. Beautiful and sensual yet dynamic, contagious and explosive in its rhythm. The kizomba is one of those dances that catches and seduces us. For many people it is a breath of freshness, something new, that fills with emotion, and is simple in their dance. Its basic steps are easy to develop, and so is its evolution into increasingly complex steps.

Kizomba is pure sensuality and even eroticism. The torso of the dancers is in contact with much of the dance, except when it is lateral. Since it is such a sticky dance, it is normal that at the beginning it may be difficult to dance it, but with a few tricks, you will dance with total freedom.

Susan Kobusingye, is the proprietor of Ashton Scot Galz and a great lover of music and dance. Susan started up an ushering company while at university to get some money to support herself outside school. She invited her friends who were struggling to join her and thus a company was born which is still helping girls get financial support while at University. She teaches the Kizomba dance at different locations where one can go and learn a few dance steps or watch the other dancers get their groove on. She says that in any country you get to there is a kizomba class where you can get to meet new people and interact

Stress relief is one of the major advantages of the kizomba dance according to Susan, after a long day’s work it’s a good way to unwind. Lots of laughter as you get the steps wrong and the fulfilling sense of achievement after mastering the dance.

Dancing is also a healthy form of exercise for any individual, every time your body is in movement, it improves blood circulation and also works up the sweat glands. If done regularly then there’s an improvement in body fitness.

The unseen advantage is the improvement in social standing. In case you go to a formal event, there is always a chance to show off your dancing skills (maybe that’s just for me).

Kizomba has long been danced in Angola, Portugal, and Cape Verde. But it has spread to other very varied countries, such as Spain, France, England, Poland, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Byelorussia, Lithuania, Egypt, Switzerland, Serbia, Canada, and also the United States.

So ladies, what are you waiting for? Learn the kizomba, salsa, etc, and get ready to sweep prince charming off his feet. Impress him with your dance moves and who knows, it might just land you at the altar.
