WHAT’S YOUR LIFESTYLE?? … quite a tricky question right! Well read through what my answer to that is.

My life as I call it isn’t actually mine to style, it was pre-determined for me way back before even my parents ever thought of ever coming together for my making process (you know what am trying to say).

But you see, I always thought I had the ability to forge my way around till death would call unto me… oh dear, did I think wrong.

For several years, I held that belief dear to me. Well until one time, I was having a chat with a certain man, and he told me something profound that got stuck at the on my mind till now. He said, “You should embrace your religion in a more serious manner young lady, this can always start from the smallest things like how you dress.” Now did I mention this man is a Muslim and also, he’s my dad😄. In short, he was telling me to start dressing and behaving like the Muslim woman am supposed to be.

It was a wake up call because I’m the kind that always wants to meet my father’s expectations  therefore knowing that actually my dress code was not rubbing him the wrong way didn’t sit well with me. So, I started following some prominent Islamic figures on my social media to understand and learn more of how I can be a better Muslim. I  started dressing modestly albeit it was a hustle because I had little to no modest attire but I would try nonetheless.

All that wasn’t actually so hard, the hard part came with praying the five daily obligatory prayers, hooo ….I could just handle the morning prayer, and avoid the rest. I call it avoiding because I wasn’t even trying to fix them in my programs…I was downright ignoring them.

But as time went on, me reading and listening to those different lectures about how a Muslim ought to behave, it hit me…I wasn’t doing the right thing even if I was lying to myself that I was.

So I started working on it (fixing the 5 prayers in my schedule). I tried and tried so hard it after became so easy I couldn’t live without it.

Haha…  you see what am trying to say here, it became my LIFESTYLE…it actually is to date.

Now all my programs have to revolve around my prayer time, I don’t want to explain how missing even one makes me feel, but my salah is something I can’t joke about, with or without my makeup🙈 hihihii now that’s a story for another day 😁.
